The Circulator Pump

Boiler Pump Leaking

Your boiler’s circulator pump allows for the water to mover around your boiler so that it heats your home. A broken boiler pump means that the water is not moving in the system, letting pressure build up. The unwanted pressure can be hard on weaker seals and fittings, eventually creating a leak.

What to do when you have a boiler pump leaking

If the boiler pump is leaking, the best solution here is to either replace the seal or replace the pump itself. Never attempt to do this on your own unless you a re qualified and trained gas safe register engineer. In fact, even if you are feeling like doing some DIY, you will find that there are not very many suppliers who will sell to a non- engineer.

Call your local gas boiler engineer right away and book an appointment. The longer you wait on getting this fixed, the bigger the leak will get. Time is of the essence when getting a leaky pump fixed.

How to prevent a boiler pump leaking

They say prevention is better than cure. This is true even with your home appliances. Get all of your gas appliances, including your boiler, checked annually – that means at least once a year. A good boiler service is worth the time and money because your local engineer will check everything on your boiler and make sure it is in good working condition.

During the boiler service, the engineer can also tell you if any parts are getting worn and need replacement soon. In fact, if he has the part available and he deems it necessary, he can replace those parts on the same day. This will avoid the emergency repairs or sudden breakdown of your boiler. In turn, you also save money from costly repairs.

Call us at RJ Gas for either your annual gas boiler service or to fix a boiler pump leaking.
